Airbus Type Ratings – A320 and A330

Add an Airbus Type Rating to your certificate by completing our 14 CFR 142 approved A320 or A330 courses in a state-of-the-art, FAA approved, Level C or D simulator.

Type rating courses can make you more marketable in the aviation industry. If you don’t have much large jet experience, a type rating will help you land a job with the airlines. Also, if you already have experience in the A320 or A330, FTI can help you convert a non-US type rating to a more marketable FAA Type Rating. Our staff will recommend a course footprint based on your experience that best suits your goals, while also saving on time and travel!

Flight Training International offers multiple options for earning an Airbus Type Rating:

Airbus A320 Type Rating

The Airbus A320 family includes the A318, A319, A320, A321 and the ACJ business jet. With more than 10,000 airframes still in service the A320 is one of the world’s most popular jetliners. The FAA has recognized all of these aircraft as a common type meaning only one type rating is required to fly any of them!

If you are considering a type rating to make yourself more marketable, the Airbus A320 should be on your short list!

Airbus A330 Type Rating

The Airbus A330 is Airbus’ medium to long range aircraft with a range of 2,700 to 7,250 NM.  It can accommodate up to 335 passengers or carry 154,000 lbs of cargo.  With more than 1,400 airframes in service, it ranks as one of the most popular aircraft in the long-range twin engine jetliner category.

Airbus CCQ Courses

A key component of the Airbus design strategy has been to harmonize the cockpit design across its fleet.  This approach allows crews to more easily transition from one Airbus airframe to another.

The term Cross Crew Qualification (CCQ) refers to a series of transition courses which allow qualified pilots to easily earn further airbus type ratings; CCQ offers a reduced footprint by taking advantage of the technical similarities and common operational and handling procedures of Airbus airframes.
