Established in 1993, Flight Training International (FTI) is an FAA approved flight training center certified to operate under the US Code of Federal Regulations, Title 14, Part 142. FTI is also a self-certifying organization, meaning that FTI is authorized to act on behalf of the FAA for the purposes of conducting recurrent and initial type rating certification.
George Smith, a former Air Force and commercial pilot with Mike Medley, experienced entrepreneur positioned FTI to meet the ever growing professional pilot training demand nationally and internationally by offering the highest quality and the most cost efficient training programs in the industry. With some tough love, hard work, and a strong team backing them up, George and Mike have created a general aviation flight training center that offers training programs to licensed commercial pilots or holders of an Air Transport Pilot (ATP) license.
Since acquiring FTI in 2009, FTI has overcome the pressing global economic recession and rising oil prices to become a thriving, competitive training center that provides training curricula and programs for real-world aircraft certificate type rating training for pilots by experienced instructors.
Advanced courses and multiple locations are available to qualified Pilots-in-Command. Programs are a combination of classroom instruction with fixed-base and full-motion flight simulator training. FTI teaches FAA approved curriculums for: Boeing, Airbus, Beech, Fokker and Embraer aircraft families. Full or accelerated courses include type ratings; recurrent training; proficiency checks; circle-to-land limitation removal; interview preps and custom plans. Moreover, courses in multiple U.S. training locations enable one-on-one student focus to more pilots domestically or internationally than other FAR Part 142 advanced training centers.
The emphasis is on Flight Training International’s unique focus of creating individualized corporate and individual training solutions. With comprehensive, individualized training in mind, Flight Training International’s instructors work together with their students to ensure each student receives extensive training and meets all practical test standards for the respective fleet.
